The Mickleden is an eight-panel newsboy cap built from a striped herringbone weave, finished with a stitched button crown and a stiffened peak. Look closely and the peak is bound in a contrast material with a small popper fastening at the side, the kind of detail that holds its shape long after a cheaper cap has gone soft. It belongs on a cold morning dog walk, at a race meeting, or under a wool overcoat on the school run.
